RJ EVANS: Hello everyone, RJ Evans with Nationwide Belting and I’m here to talk to you a little bit about the poultry industry. Just want to kind of start off talking about some of the different areas. We’re going to talk about the lay in the pullet side which is where the chicks are born prior to them being on the slaughter side. We’re going to talk about the kill side or the slaughter side of things. We want to talk about the processing side, we want to talk about the packaging side. So we’re
going to start off just kind of going through some of the different things that Nationwide Belting Sales and Services offers when it comes to the poultry industry.

AD: For more information, please check out our website at www.beltingss.com.

RJ EVANS: We offer all of the different products on the lay and the pullet side. So those would be more of your manure belts. We do a lot of different types of PVCs, we MOR products for the manure barns so there’s a lot of different areas that we can help you guys out with that. We do them both in Crescent top and smooth then once the chickens are to age they’re going to go into the kill side or the slaughter side of it. So in the processing side we’re going to talk a little bit about kill and on the kill side you’re going to use a lot of Monolithic material. So Monolithics are materials that do not have fabric reinforcement to them. They’re totally encapsulated. That can come in a positive drive or it can come in a smooth friction belt. So you’ll see a modular belt in that as well. We don’t carry the modular side but we can definitely help you in the monolithic. Once it’s through the kill piece then it’s going to go into the processing. Some of your processing opportunities might exist with slicers such as Graselli, such as Morels. You’ll have weigh scale opportunities for where you’re weighing the actual package, the breast of meat, the leg, the thigh. There’s a wide range of different opportunities when it comes to that. You’ll also have metal detection so you’ll have metal detectors where the chicken will run through. All of those will use some type of conveyor belt typically a urethane material. Nationwide Belting Sales and Services stocks all of that

AD: If you need any type of conveyor belt, from food handling, to package handling, to aggregate, to specialty products nylon core belts, feel free to give us a call at 419-287-7092 or check our website out at www.nbeltingss.com

RJ EVANS: Once we get through that side there’ll be bones left over, things of that nature and it’ll go into a deboning process. That deboning process are used with Simplimatic or Baader machines and it’s where the meat is taken off of the bone of the chicken and a lot of your chicken nuggets or products such as chicken nuggets are actually produced from that. Once we get done with that, you’re going to go into the packaging side. The packaging side is going to be, you’re going to see
materials such as ocid, you’re going to see materials where you’re going to be taking the package and putting cellophane on top of it and you’re going to have opportunities for foam belts. You’re going to have opportunities for polar belts, any type of machine or belt that can be used in the packaging industry. So there’s again a lot of urethane belts, there’s a lot of foam-covered belts, a lot of polar belts to pull the packages through the system. So again just wanted to kind of chat with you a little bit today about the poultry industry. Love to help you guys out and if you could give us a call at 419-287-7092 we’d love to help you.
